Software
Installation
Depending on your department, you may have additional software available. These programs may be automatically “pushed” to your computer upon start-up, or an IT staff member may install them directly to your computer.
If you need a software program installed, please contact us. Please make sure you have the proof of license, as well as the software media.

Licensing
-
The IT Department will manage software licenses and subscriptions, ensuring that the school maintains compliance with software licensing agreements and avoids unnecessary license renewals or purchases.
-
License tracking tools should be used to monitor software installations and usage.
-
The IT Department will review subscriptions and licensing renewals annually to ensure they align with the school’s current needs.

Compliance with Legal and Regulatory Requirements
-
All hardware and software procurement must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including intellectual property laws, software licensing agreements, and data protection regulations.
-
Software used in the classroom must comply with COPPA and FERPA regulations if it handles student information.
-
Open-source software must be reviewed to ensure that its license permits the intended use within the school and that it meets security standards.
